Playoffs Day 2 Recap: Kings XI Dominate, Kingsmen Make It Two in Two

As playoff action carried on at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium, the Pacific Conference produced two entertaining contests as Kings XI Dallas cruised to a commanding win over Silicon Valley Strikers, while Chicago Kingsmen once again showed their resilience, this time overcoming East Bay Blazers to successfully complete their second consecutive chase. Meanwhile, the Atlantic Conference games at Church Street Park were pushed to October 4 due to pitch conditions.

Kings XI Back to Winning Ways in Style

Kings XI Dallas stamped their authority with a dominant nine-wicket victory against Silicon Valley Strikers. Put in to chase, openers Unmukt Chand (66* off 47) and Rehman Dar (51 off 37) put together a 109-run stand in just 12.1 overs, effectively sealing the contest.

After Dar’s dismissal, Andries Gous (24* off 9) applied the finishing touches with his trademark power-hitting, maintaining his blazing form from the league stage. The Strikers’ bowlers struggled to find breakthroughs or stem the flow of runs, and Kings XI crossed the line with ease as they chased 145 in just 15.2 overs.  

Vintage Hammad Azam Gives Kingsmen Second Consecutive Playoffs Win

The evening clash between Chicago Kingsmen and East Bay Blazers delivered more drama. Batting first, the Blazers managed a modest total of 147/8 on board, with Sanjay Krishnamurthi (36 off 29) and Hizbullah Durrani (33 off 29) highlighting the innings with a 69-runs stand for the third wicket.  

Vikash Mohan was leading the charge to keep Chicago under pressure in the chase. The Kingsmen were in trouble in their reply when Sayed Saad Ali (30 off 24) was run out, the struggling at 59/5 in 10.5 overs. But from there, their big-game players rose to the occasion.

Hammad Azam (53* off 37) lived up to his reputation as a big-match performer, anchoring the innings under pressure. Alongside him, Hassan Khan produced a stellar all-round display with an unbeaten 38 off 24 after chipping in with 2 wickets earlier.Their unbeaten 92-run stand for the sixth wicket turned the tide completely, guiding Chicago to a five-wicket win with composure and authority.
